Sami Garabedian

Sami Garabedian has been the Director of Athletics at LAU’s Beirut campus since 1994 and is its current tennis coach. He is also a Senior Instructor of Physical Education (tennis & basketball) in the Department of Education. He received his B.A. in Business Administration and Economics from the American University of Beirut in 1981 and earned his M.S.Ed., with specialization in Athletic Administration and Coaching, from the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida in 1983. He currently serves as the Secretary for External Relations with the Lebanese Federation of University Sports; is a member of FISU’s (International Federation of University Sports) Education Committee (until end of 2019) and was the Secretary General of the Lebanese Rugby League Federation from 2003 until end of 2018. His playing career included basketball (ENB, Homentmen), soccer (Homentmen), and tennis for over 15 years. He has participated in a considerable number of educational workshops and seminars as lecturer and speaker and attended international conferences and seminars on university sports. He has also contributed extensively to the development of university sport in Lebanon.”
